India went 1-0 up in the five-match T20I series against Australia as they won the first game by two wickets on Thursday, November 23 at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. After being put in to bat first, Australia posted a mammoth score of 208/3 riding on a spectacular hundred from Josh Inglis. India’s chase didn’t get off to a good start as they lost their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (21 off 8) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (0 off 0) in the first three overs.
However, a massive 112-run stand off 60 balls between Ishan Kishan (58 off 39) and Suryakumar Yadav (80 off 42) helped their side get back into the game. Following their dismissals, Rinku Singh (22* off 14) stayed till the end and helped India chase down the target in 19.5 overs as they finished on 209/8.
