Twitter turns sarcastic as Chetan Sharma gets reappointed as chairman of BCCI's new selection committee

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the new All India Selection Committee for men and to much surprise, former cricketer Chetan Sharma has retained his posoition as the chairman of the committee. Meanwhile, Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola, and Sridharan Sharath will join Sharma to form the five-member committee. 

BCCI in an official statement revealed that around 600 applications were received for the position and the Cricket Advisory Comminttee (CAC) narrowed it down to 11 individuals for personal interviews. Based on the interview, the new committee is formed.

“The Board received around 600 applications following its advertisement for the five posts issued on its official website on 18th November 2022. Upon due deliberation and careful consideration, the CAC shortlisted 11 individuals for personal interviews. Based on the interviews, the Committee has recommended the following candidates for the Senior Men’s National Selection Committee,” BCCI said in an official statement.
