South Africa has posted a mammoth total of 224 runs in the third and final T20I against Bangladesh at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. The visiting team once again looked out of ideas when the batsmen attacked their bowlers. The fastest century in T20 Internationals from David Miller was the highlight of the innings and he was beautifully assisted by Hashim Amla. Bangladesh didn’t have any answers in the death and kept dishing hit me deliveries which were pounced on by Miller.

The hosts rested Quinton De Kock at the top and included Mangaliso Mosehle for the dead rubber but he couldn’t make the most of this opportunity. Even the skipper JP Duminy also was scalped early by Shakib Al Hasan much to the joy of the Bangladeshi fans present in the Stadium. But all the fun was short lived as AB de Villiers and Amla launched an unexpected counterattack. The latter especially was pleasing to the eyes as he played all the proper cricketing strokes and proved his worth in the shortest format yet again. De Villiers was dismissed by Mohammad Saifuddin at a crucial juncture and everyone thought that the visitors might have a chance in the final game of the series.

Miller tees off

David Miller joined Amla and they just blasted the bowlers to all corners of the ground. Just when everyone thought that the opener might score a much-deserved ton, he was snaffled by Saifuddin who was impressive so far. But very few knew what was coming next which was going to blow away all the hopes of the Asian team to restrict Proteas to a below-par total. Miller teed off in the death overs and dealt only with sixes after Amla was sent back into the hut.

He thumped the most impressive bowler of the day, Saifuddin, for 31 runs and at one stage had smashed five sixes off the first 5 deliveries. Unlike his ally, he didn’t miss out on a century which is now a fastest one in the T20 Internationals. South Africa posted a huge score of 224/4 in their 20 overs as Miller remained unbeaten on 101 off just 36 deliveries. His knock was studded with 7 fours and 9 gigantic hits over the ropes. Amla too wasn’t behind as he slammed 85 runs off just 51 cherries with 11 fours and a solitary.

Twitterati poured in their tweets first for the crafty little innings from Amla and then were just left stunned with a Miller special as runs galore.
