The game between the Lahore Qalandars and the Quetta Gladiators was an exciting one for all cricket fans – A match between two power packed teams having renowned names from the cricketing world. Lahore won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf bowled great lines to stem the flow of runs in the early overs. They also managed to dismiss the openers early on to put the Quetta side on the back foot. Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and Chris Gayle were then involved in a 101-run partnership to get things back on track.

The Universe Boss was on fire as he scored a 40-ball 68 including five boundaries and five sixes. The captain, on the other hand, played a good supporting knock scoring 40 runs from 33 balls. Mohammad Nawaaz provided the finishing touches scoring a quick-fire 33*.

The Lahore side managed a score of 178/6 at the end of 20 overs. Haris Rauf impressed once again as he ended with three wickets to his name. Shaheen Afridi, Ahmed Daniyal, and Rashid Khan took one wicket each. It was now time for the batsmen to show their class.

Chasing 179 was never going to be beyond the Qalandars reach considering the strong batting line-up they had. They did not disappoint as they achieved an easy win by nine wickets with ten balls to spare. It was a run scoring fest as the batsmen went all guns blazing.

Captain Sohail Akhtar disappointed as he scored a 26 ball 21. He never looked settled and was eventually dismissed by Zahid Mahmood. Fakhhar Zahman and Mohammad Hafeez then stole the show to hand their side the second victory of the season.

Fakhar scored 82* runs off 52 balls but was overshadowed by Hafeez who scored a brilliant 73* off only 33 balls. The duo was involved in an unbeaten 115-run partnership to seal the game for their side. The bowlers had a disappointing day as they leaked runs and failed to get wickets. The Quetta side has now lost two in two and would require an improved performance in their upcoming games.
