Amidst the drama that unfolded on Day 3 regarding the playing conditions, the game continued on Day 4. While half of the Indian fans were engaged in the IPL auction, India were up to the task at New Wanderers, Johannesburg to get the nine wickets of the Proteas. Hashim Amla and Dean Elgar put up a brilliant 119 run partnership for the second wicket. The South Africans failed to lose a single wicket in the first session. It seemed as if the hosts were marching towards victory as Indians failed to take a single wicket in the morning.
Hashim Amla scored a splendid fifty before Ishant Sharma finally got the first breakthrough for India. AB De Villiers soon followed as South Africa were reduced to 131/3. The skipper Faf Du Plessis alongside Elgar managed to prolong their stay at the crease till tea.
However, India surely had something special during the tea break. If the morning session offered a long drought of wickets, the third session saw a flurry of South African wickets falling. Du Plessis was the first to go as he got bowled by Ishant. Quinton De Kock was adjudged LBW as half the side was back to the dressing room.
Mohammed Shami was in midst of a fiery spell as he got a five-wicket haul. While Dean Elgar carried his bat throughout the innings as he stayed not out on 86. However, the tailenders faltered quickly as India reduced South Africa from 144/3 to 161/9.
With Lungi Ngidi taking guard, it was only a matter of time before India attained victory in the test match. However, both him and Elgar tried to score some boundaries to irritate India. However, this didn’t last long as Ngidi edged one to substitute wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik.
India reviewed the decision as replays showed that there was a clear edge. India pulled off a scintillating victory by just 63 runs. While they had already lost the series, this was a splendid fightback coming from the visitors after being 2 down in the series. Twitter was glad with the way Indian bowlers scripted a comeback.
Here we present to you some of the Twitter reactions from the final day of the Test series:

As true lovers of the game, let's also take a moment and applaud the grit and determination displayed by Dean Elgar. He waged a lone battle as the Indian pacers were too good for rest of the South African side

I like the new rule of allowing a substitute to keep wickets. Dinesh Karthik behind the wickets for India.

What this match deserves:
South Africa 10 short of victory with 9 wickets in hand. Balls start rearing up from a length all of a sudden. Umpires call off play keeping batsmen's safety in mind. South Africa complain.#SAvIND
