The Indian team is currently playing the last Test match against South Africa. The balance of the game seems to be swinging between either side. Also, the pitch is very difficult to bat on. At the moment, India seem to have an upper hand over the game as they posted a lead of 240 and the South Africans will have to bat really well to chase that down.

Earlier, the Indians conceded a lead of seven runs in the first innings. Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was included back into the squad plucked two crucial wickets. However, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers. He took his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket and ensured that the team was in a good position.

India extend the lead

Batting in their second innings, the Indian batsmen ensured that they take the lead past 200. Although the top four batsmen didn’t score a lot of runs, captain Virat Kohli made sure that the team marched towards a big score. After his dismissal, the talk of the town, Ajinkya Rahane looked good and was back among the runs. Although he missed out on a well-deserved half-century, he put India on the top with a magnificent 48. He top-scored for India in the innings.

Bhuvneshwar was very tidy and clinical in the middle. He pushed the Indian total further and out of the reach of the South Africans with his knock of 33. Mohammed Shami who had come in on the fall of Rahane’s wicket scored at run a ball. He tonked the South African bowlers hard and played a crucial knock before he got out on 27.

Virender Sehwag yet again came up with a witty tweet. After Shami hit both Morne Morkel and Kagiso Rabada for sixes, Sehwag put up an interesting tweet. He said, “Morkel ko 6, Rabada ko 6 . Vijay ka, Rahul ka, Pujara ka, Sabka badla lega re tera Shami :)”.

This means that Shami would dish out the revenge of Vijay, Rahul and Pujara’s failure by smashing the South African bowlers for huge sixes.
