Twitter Reactions: India snatch a victory off the jaws of defeat

Bangladesh needed 17 runs from the last 12 balls and India only had an over of one regular bowler. MS Dhoni either had to bowl one over from Hardik Pandya, Suresh Raina or Yuvraj Singh. Jasprit Bumrah bowled a superb penultimate over and saved 12 runs for the last 6 balls. Dhoni chose Pandya who hadn’t had a great game with the ball, but certainly has the nerves to walk through. Being handed over the responsibility, the youngster had a smile on his face, which was more about enjoying the challenge than nervousness.
With both Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah at the crease Bangladesh fancied their chances and was their game, but both the senior batsmen threw away their wickets and gave India the opportunity to snatch a thrilling victory.
India were put into bat first after Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and assessed the wicket to get easier for batting in the second inning. Mashrafe was spot on with his decision and the home team was under pressure straight away losing both their openers in quick succession. Though Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina stitched a partnership, the runs weren’t coming easy for the Indians. A few meaty hits from Hardik Pandya, Ravi Jadeja and MS Dhoni towards the end got India to 147 though they would have wanted 15 runs more to feel comfortable.
Playing the pacers looked easy for the Bangladeshi batsmen and Dhoni brought in Ashwin who immediately struck to give them the breakthrough. But one India had fewer runs and two Bangladesh batted sensibly and it was their game to lose. Shabbir, Shakib, Mahmudullah all batted well but in the end, the experience of the Men in Blue helped them edge past the spirited Tigers to a thrilling victory.
Here is how Twitter reacted right through the game:
Kohli may fill the space of Sachin but no one can fill the space of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Sharp thinking by @msdhoni to remove his right glove. There would have been very few nails left if we had to deal with a super over.

T 2184 – With all due respects, it would be really worthy of an Indian commentator to speak more about our players than others all the time.

You don't learn leadership quality in an institution. A two year drop out in school & still a best leader.
Yes, it's Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

He ran to flick the stumps off rather than throw the ball at them. That's what coolness means – having presence of mind under pressure. #MSD
