The Day-2 of the second Test between West Indies and India was all about the visitors’ dominance. First, Hanuma Vihari commanded India’s first innings by bringing up his maiden Test century. Later, Jasprit Bumrah proved his supremacy yet again with some splendid bowling. The way he rattled the opposition apart seemed as if he was playing against a club team.

India didn’t have a great start to the day. Jason Holder produced a beauty on the first ball that was bowled. Rishabh Pant was absolutely in no position to play that delivery and it got through his gate. Then, Ravindra Jadeja offered some resistance and complemented Hanuma Vihari well. However, after defending at a lot of deliveries, he tried to break the shackles and attempted a big hit. He didn’t find the right kind of connection and that ballooned up straight into the air. He was dismissed for 16.

The most shocking knock, though, came from the bat of Ishant Sharma. He had luck in his favour on a few occasions. Yet, to make the most of it and play some glorious shots was something special. Hanuma Vihari got to his century first followed by Ishant Sharma’s half-century. India was heading towards the 450-run mark before these two batsmen attempted big shots and got out. The team was ultimately bowled out for 416 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah becomes the third Indian to pick a Test hat-trick

The West Indies innings was all about a one-man show with the ball. Jasprit Bumrah ran through their batting line-up and they were all falling like a pack of card. Even though Shimron Hetmyer played some positive cricket, the Jasprit Bumrah factor was a bit too much for them. He first dismissed John Campbell in the 7th over of the innings with a beauty.

Moreover, when he came back to bowl his next, he was even more ferocious with the ball. Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase were dismissed off consecutive deliveries. Thus, Jasprit Bumrah became the third Indian bowler to pick up a Test hat-trick. Also, he became the third bowler to pick up a hat-trick in the Caribbean islands. The pacer finished with a six-wicket haul as West Indies finished the day with 87/7.

Twitterati fell short of words to describe the brilliance of Bumrah. They believe that the 25-year-old will emerge to be the greatest Indian pacer of all-time. Also, they cheered Hanuma Vihari and Ishant Sharma for their maiden milestones with the bat.
