The second day of the ongoing third Test match between South Africa and Australia continued to amaze the cricket fans. The hosts bowled brilliantly throughout the day to keep the lid on Australian batsmen as they failed following yet another Steve Smith failure. Though it was a stunning innings from Nathan Lyon which kept them in the game who scored 47 off just 38 deliveries. However, Twitterati hailed South Africa for bowling well and especially Morkel who reached a milestone of 300 Test wickets.
Earlier in the morning, the home side added some vital runs even as their tail wagged along with the ever so solid Dean Elgar who carried his bat by remaining unbeaten on 141 with 20 fours to his name. South Africa posted 311 runs in their first innings Pat Cummins ended with the figures of 4/78. He was supported well by Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon who picked a couple of wickets each.
SA bowlers breathe fire
Australia came out with blazing guns as David Warner took the attack to Kagiso Rabada and smashed him all over the park. But the youngster came back superbly to castle him which triggered a collapse for the visitors. Wickets kept on tumbling as Smith’s poor runs in this series continued. Though Cameron Bancroft played a valuable knock of 77 and kept his team in the hunt. But the other batsmen faltered big time only for Tim Paine and Nathan Lyon to resurrect the innings.
The duo got together with their team in tatters at 175/8 and Lyon played his shots fearlessly which caught South Africa off guard. They added 66 runs for the ninth wicket and crashed the hopes of South Africa to bag a huge and decisive lead in the first innings. Though Lyon fell in the dying stages of the day, Paine managed to stay until the end with Josh Hazlewood as the visitors finished the day on 245/9.
Twitterati was thrilled to watch the game during the course of the play and hailed both the teams for the same.
Here’s how they reacted:
The trajectory of David Warner's off stump in slow motion is one of the most beautiful, hypnotic things I have ever seen in my life. #SAvAUS pic.twitter.com/vnOy3Tjlo0

Dean Elgar has carried the bat in an inns for the 3rd time in Tests, which equals Desmond Haynes who had also done it 3 times. #SAvAus

South Africa could have easily killed the game, but they didn't and you give Australia a sniff at your own peril. The next two innings should be fun. #SAvAUS
