Rising Pune Supergiants are up against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune in a crunch game, that is sort of a must win for both the teams as they would otherwise sink into the bottom half of the points table. Pune skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and as every captain has been doing decided to bowl first. Virat lost his fourth toss in a row and made a couple of changes in the side.
Dhoni has been spot on with his wicketkeeping during this season despite not many things going his way he has certainly been at his best behind the wickets. He made a wonderful save in the previous game presuming the batsman was going to cut the ball, he extended his right foot and fielded the ball. He almost did a replay of that in the 8th over of the RCB inning tonight. The bowler was Ravichandran Ashwin and MSD’s team India deputy Virat Kohli was the batsman, he wanted to steer it down to third man for a single but Dhoni saw it coming and for the second time stopped the ball with his foot.
It was a brilliant moment, it not only saved a few runs for Pune but also kept Kohli on strike. The skipper himself was amused with his work and was seen smiling after saving that one. This was a more planned effort this time while it looked instinctive in the last game. MS Dhoni has always been unconventional behind the wicket and this probably adds to the list of things only he manages to do.
Here is how twitter reacted to Dhoni’s super keeping:
Batsman. Captain. Wicket-keeper. Goal-keeper.
Dhoni again uses his right leg to stop an intentional steer from Kohli. #IPL2016 #RPSvRCB
