Pakistan has taken a big lead against Bangladesh in the ongoing Test at Rawalpindi. On Day 3, the hosts were dismissed for a total of 445. It looked like Bangladesh might give a tough fight to Men in Green but that was not the case as they struggled against the fast bowling unit of Pakistan. Meanwhile, Naseem Shah had a great day with the ball as he scalped a hat-trick followed by his first four-wicket haul in Tests.
Men in Green didn’t get off to a great start on Day 3 as they lost their centurion Babar Azam on the first delivery for the day bowled by Abu Jayed. The in-form batsman ended up giving a catch to the first slip fielder. Just after adding 10 runs to the scoreboard, Asad Shafiq was also dismissed by Ebadot Hossain. ‘The Tigers’ started taking a grip over the match before Harris Sohail smacked them all across the park after a slow start.
The left-hander played a responsible knock of 75 runs that helped Pakistan in posting a mammoth total of 445 runs before getting dismissed in the 1st innings. It helped the hosts in taking a lead of 212 runs against the visitors. Rubel Hossain and Abu Jayed turned out to be the best bowlers for their side, who scalped three wickets each.
Naseem Shah skittles Bangladesh
Bangladesh in the second innings again to failed to get a good start as their openers again failed to click good knocks with the bat. Saif Hassan was the first to get dismissed after mustering only 16 runs for his side. The right-hander was castled by a brilliant inswing delivery by Naseem Shah. Soon, Tamim Iqbal was sent back to the pavilion after he was pinned down in front of the stumps by Yasir Shah.
Najmul Hossain Shanto tried to prolong his stay on the wicket to revive his side from the early setbacks. He was determined not to give away his wicket to the bowlers and scored 36 runs off 86 balls. However, his innings came to a halt by Naseem Shah, who grabbed his second in the innings.
The drama was yet to be unfolded as Naseem Shah went onto dismiss Taijul Islam and Mahmudullah on back to back deliveries of the same over. It also helped him in taking his first hat-trick in Tests for Pakistan. He also became the fifth player to take hattrick for Men in Green in the longest format.
By the end of Day 3, Bangladesh cricket team were left struggling for a score of 126 runs of five wickets. It will be interesting to watch if the Bangladesh batsmen will be able to rescue their team on Day 4.

While the Bangladesh juniors are having an excellent day so far, the seniors aren't quite up to it. Young Naseem Shah has again highlighted the fast bowling crop they seem to harvest.
