The 2nd T20I between Pakistan and West Indies got underway in Karachi on 14th December 2021 where the host nation continued their winning streak to take up a 2-0 unassailable lead. The men in green bagged the contest by nine runs which claimed them the series, eventually. Winning the toss, Babar Azam and his men chose to flaunt the action with willows first and posted a fine total of 172 runs on the board. Much to the dismay of Pakistan fans, skipper Babar Azam failed yet again to produce any runs and walked back after pitching in just seven runs.

The golden run of Mohammad Rizwan continued as he brought crucial 38 runs off 30 balls at the top. Haider Ali and Iftikhar Ahmed remained essential in the middle order as they scored 31 off 34 and 32 off 19 deliveries respectively. The finishing touch to the scoreboard was given by Shadab Khan who smashed 28 off just 12 deliveries.

Khan, who produced a stellar bowling show in the opening T20I, shined yet again at the end to push Pakistan to breach the 170-run mark. Odean Smith picked two wickets for his team while Akeal Hosein remained the best from West Indies’ side to check the run flow from Pakistan’s end.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Pakistan’s yet another victory

As soon as West Indies showed up with their batting, Shai Hope returned cheaply after being trapped by Mohammad Wasim Jr. However, his partner Brandon King was the main star from their batting setup as he smashed 67 off 43 deliveries. Nicholas Pooran pitched in with 26 off 26 but couldn’t convert his start to something substantial.

It was by the end of the 15th over when the required run rate started mounting 12 and none of the batters from visiting nation could take the intense responsibility. Though Romario Shepherd tried his best by bringing 35 off 19, the team remained short of nine runs.  While Shadab Khan remained the best with economy of 5.50, he had to leave the match wicketless. On the other hand, Shaheen Afridi rolled his golden arm yet again to pick three wickets in the game while conceding just 26 runs in his quota.
