Zimbabwe’s performance in the ongoing five-match ODI series against Pakistan is getting worse with every game. They are yet to even cross the 200-run mark in the three matches and have been no match to a full-strength Pakistani team. The third ODI didn’t even last the length of a full ODI inning as Zimbabwe were bowled out in 25.1 overs and Pakistan chased the disgustingly low target of 68 runs in 9.5 overs. Thus, the match came to a close 25 mins before the scheduled lunch break.
It was Hamilton Masakadza who won the toss and decided to bat first. Though the Bulawayo wicket offers no drastic support or assistance to the pacers Faheem Ashraf & Co. were all over them in no time. The first wicket fell on the team score of 1 in the second over. Usman Khan was the first to draw blood as PS Masvaure was caught behind by Sarfraz Ahmed. Skipper Masakadza continues to remain uninspiring.
There was a flurry of wickets thereafter an absolute haemorrhage. After the top three only one other batsman got into double digits. Ashraf had a wonderful field day as he ended up with a five-wicket haul his first in ODI cricket. He ended up with figures of 8.1-2-22-5. All of Sarfraz’s resources got him wickets. Junaid Khan and Yasir Shah playing their first match on the tour returned with two and one wickets respectively.
The chase was just a formality. Imam-ul-Haq will feel he missed out as he was out caught behind on the first ball of the innings off Blessing Muzarabani. Thereafter Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam made a mockery of the chase. Both the batsmen played their shots making the best use of the field restrictions. Fakhar hit right boundaries and Azam hit three in their knocks worth 43 and 19.
Pakistan got over the line before the end of the mandatory powerplay. They didn’t even feel the need of celebrating a win even if it meant they now have a 3-0 command over the series.
Here is how Twitterati reacted to the rather dull contest:

Magnificent Performance Pakistan… Won with 241 balls to spare & 9 wickets in hand, that’s Pakistan’s biggest victory while chasing in ODIs. #ZIMvPAK

Haters may say that Pakistan is playing against a B side Zimbabwe which is true but the comprehensive way Pakistan is beating them shows we're improving as a white ball team #ZIMvPAK

What a refreshing change, nobody in the Zimbabwean team gonna say: We were 15-20 runs short. #ZIMvPAK
