Cricket is a very popular sport in India and Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments will just tell you why. As various state and general elections are approaching in the country, there is an ugly feud going on between all the top political parties. Also, PM Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi, the heads of two prime parties are often spotted taking jibes at each other at during their rallies. In a recent development, Rahul compared Modi’s actions in cricketing terms and left everyone stumped.

He bats looking at wicketkeeper

After his rear-view mirror drive jibe at the prime minister, Gandhi on Sunday likened Modi to a cricketer who bats looking at the wicketkeeper without knowing from where the ball is coming. The jibe at a public meeting was based on the attack for speaking about the Congress’ past rather than about the future. Earlier, speaking at Karatagi in Raichur district, Gandhi asked Modi to stop giving speeches on the past and start working, saying he does not have a lot of time left before the completion of his term.

“If Sachin Tendulkar would have batted looking at the wicketkeeper, could he have scored a single run? Our Prime Minister is such a cricketer who looks at the wicketkeeper and does not know from where the ball is coming from,” he said.

“You will have to tell the country during the elections what you did in the last five years. It is going to be five years and you have not even opened your account,” he told Modi, making him the focal point of his attack in a series of roadside and public meetings.

RaGa as he is popularly known on social media also criticised the government for failing to create new jobs and eliminating black money. However, Twitterati found Rahul’s comment hilarious and didn’t spare a chance to go hard at him. Some termed that he is neither to be a bowler nor a batsman. There were various memes tweeted and not many were impressed with his comments.
