The Sunrisers Hyderabad took on the Kolkata Knight Riders in the eliminator at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi. Captain Gautam Gambhir won the toss as KKR elected to field first. While SRH brought in Ben Cutting and Bipul Sharma, KKR had Morne Morkel and R Sathish coming in for them.
Batting first, Sunrisers lost Shikhar Dhawan early. David Warner and Moises Henriques recovered them from the early slump before Kuldeep Yadav sent both of them back into the pavilion of successive balls. Yuvraj Singh then played a gem of a knock for his team scoring 44 from 30 balls while Bipul hit 2 sixes in the last over.
This propelled SRH’s total to a decent 162/8 in their quota of 20 overs. For KKR, Kuldeep was the pick of the bowlers as he struck thrice while Morkel and Jason Holder both got two wickets apiece. On the other hand, Sunil Narine went wicketless.
Kolkata lost Robin Uthappa early. At one stage, when Gautam Gambhir and Colin Munro seemed to have balanced things a confusion resulted in a run out. From there on Kolkata kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Manish Pandey did well for his 36 (28) but ended up giving a catch to Deepak Hooda.
In the end, KKR fell short of the target, thanks to some extraordinary bowling by Mustafizur Rahman and Bhuvanesh Kumar at the death. Sunrisers Hyderabad proceeded to the qualifiers against the Gujarat Lions on Friday while KKR has been eliminated.
Twitter kept everyone entertained with some splendid tweets throughout the KKR-SRH game. Right from lauding Yuvraj to trolling the rest of the SRH batting, right from lauding Mustafizur and Bhuvanesh to trolling KKR. Here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game:

So we will have a new #IPL champion team this season. About time it went away from #MI & #KKR.

If only Gambhir could be as animated as Virat in the dugout, KKR would have an outside chance.#SRHvKKR

If Bhuvi can do this consistently in IPL, surely he can do the same in international cricket. Must be trusted with death-bowling for ODI/T20

I hope Gambhir hits a six that sends the ball straight into the crowd and wakes up at least 5 people in the stadium.#SRHvKKR

Yuvraj Singh always hits the stumps directly. Whether he is fielding, bowling or even batting. #SRHvKKR

#KKR tightening the noose…courtesy the depth in their spin department. It's mind boggling that Kuldeep has played only handful of games!

Poor Warner, just about had it carrying this team on his twitchy shoulders.#SRHvKKR

Gautam Gambhir is usually angry but gets even angrier when his bowler picks up a wicket.#SRHvKKR

At this rate Yusuf Pathan may end up bowling five overs and go unnoticed.#SRHvKKR
