The Sunrisers Hyderabad took on the Kings XI Punjab in a humdinger of a contest at Mohali. Captain Murali Vijay won the toss as KXIP elected to bat first. While KXIP had Anureet Singh coming in for them, Ben Cutting and Karn Sharma were brought in by SRH.
Batting first, KXIP lost Vijay early. From there on, Hashim Amla put up a classical display of batting with some magnificent strikes. He went on to miss out on a deserving hundred as he scored 96 from just 56 balls. Wriddhiman Saha, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and David Miller chipped in with crucial 20s and provided good support to him.
Kings XI Punjab posted a total of 179/4 in their quota of 20 overs which was a good total considering the big ground. Bhuvanesh Kumar was the pick of the bowlers as he got a couple of wickets.
On the other hand, the openers again provided a kickstart to the Sunrisers Hyderabad innings. Warner scored a splendid 52 from 41 balls before unluckily getting out hit wicket. From there on, it was the Yuvraj and Hooda show as they took SRH to the winning score.
In the end, SRH won by 7 wickets with 2 balls to spare. Axar Patel was the pick of the bowlers for KXIP while others were quite expensive. With this win, SRH became the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
Twitter kept everyone entertained with some superb tweets throughout the KXIP-SRH clash. Right from lauding Amla to trolling SRH bowlers, right from lauding Warner to trolling SRH’s obsession to hit-wicket, here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game:

Mohit attempted three Yorkers & conceded only 3 runs..the other three length balls went for 14. Super hitting but poor bowling too #KXIPvSRH

Think this will be battle of openers, Amla vs Warner. Two guys who can time anything anywhere.
