After the Baroda team posted a massive total of 529 in their first innings at Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi with Deepak Hoda leading the scorer table by scoring 293 runs. The Punjab captain Yuvraj Singh along with his opener Manan Vohra scored a total of 484 runs, with Yuvraj Singh scoring 260 runs of 370 balls. Losing opener Jiwanjot Singh and middle-order batsman Uday Kaul early, Mana Vohra scored a double hundred which helped Punjab in chasing a massive total of 529, after the departure of Manan the captain Yuvraj Singh having years of experience at the international arena walked out to bat, he along with Gurkeerat Singh they both went on to make a partnership of a 100 run mark.
After the departure of Gurkeerat Singh the Punjabi Puttar having played at this ground as a home team for his IPL team went on to score a double ton. His innings of 260 runs included 26 fours and 4 giant sixes. His sensational covers drives and flicks were a treat to watch. He brought up his double hundred which helped his team to narrow the lead over Baroda.
The destructive T-20 batsman who has been overlooked several times by the selection committee due to his fitness for the game, but his knock against Baroda team will give him some confidence as his performance in the domestic circuit has not been so impressive in the Duleep Trophy and against the railways, but this knock might be a sign of the comeback of elegance of Yuvraj Singh’s batting which will give the selectors something to ponder upon with not much-experienced player present in the Indian middle order.
Fans of Yuvraj Singh are joyous with his performance and had tweeted after his sensational knock. Here are some of the best tweets on Yuvraj Singh’s career-best first-class score.
