The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is one of the biggest and richest cricket boards in India. They are also known for protecting their intellectual property and have often claimed copyrights on the match videos or clips uploaded by the fans on Twitter. However, the Indian board got a taste of its own medicine as its Twitter DP was removed due to copyright violation.
The official logo of BCCI was removed and replaced with an image which states “This image has been removed in response to a report from the copyright holder.” This has left the netizens confused as they are unable to reach a conclusion on whether BCCI has done this purpose or the cricketing body’s logo was subjected to any copyright violation or it is a promotional act, or something else.
Many also speculated that someone might have hacked the official Twitter handle of the cricket board to make them aware of how the fans feel when BCCI gets their accounts banned for using the match clips.
Rohit Sharma absent from Australia tour of India
Last week, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced the squad for the Australia tour of India consisting of three ODIs, three T20Is and four Tests. The tour will commence with the ODI series on November 27. It will be followed by the T20I series before the Test series starts on December 17.
One major exclusion from the Indian squad was of limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma. The opening batsman hasn’t picked as of now owing to a hamstring injury. Similarly, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ishant Sharma are also absent from the squad due to injuries. Both the pacers were also ruled out of the ongoing 2020 edition of the T20 extravaganza.
Rishabh Pant’s name is also not there in the squad for ODI and T20I series. It is speculated that Pant has been termed unfit by the Indian board owing to his physique and weight. However, the wicketkeeper-batsman has been included in the squad for the longest format of the game.
In the absence of Rohit, KL Rahul has been named as the vice-captain for the ODI and T20I squad. Virat Kohli & Co. will leave for Australia on November 12, two days after the ongoing IPL comes to an end.
