Twitter slams Shahid Afridi for tweeting a picture of his daughter with a lion

The enigma of Shahid Afridi as a cricketer has left his supporters awestruck as his career progressed. He scored a whirlwind century from 37 balls versus Sri Lanka way back in 1996. The knock remained as the fastest century in ODIs for the next 18 years after which Corey Anderson’s blitz versus the Windies overhauled it. He also emerged as a tough bowler to counter as he wasn’t a traditional leg-break bowler.

He employed an unflinching approach on the field and hardly allowed the opponents to dictate terms to him. The legendary cricketer was a fulcrum of the Pakistan team for over a couple of decades, both with the willow and the leather. He wasn’t the most consistent as a batsman, yet opponents marked him as a force to reckon with owing to his swashbuckling style of play.

He has also been a popular figure in overseas domestic T20 teams having plied his trade in Australia, West Indies, Bangladesh and India as well. He played for the Deccan Chargers (DC) in the initial edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, following the Pakistani players’ ban in the country, he couldn’t take part in the tournament.

Afridi has had his share of controversies as well. Recently he opined on the Indian-occupied area of Kashmir and was a recipient of brickbat from nook and corner of India. Recently, he captained the World XI in their match versus the Windies at the Lord’s Cricket Ground and bowed out of international cricket. He was given a Guard of Honour prior to the match which was heartwarming, to say the least.

The former Pakistani cricketer has four daughters in Aqsa, Ajwa, Ansha and Asmara. He has often been seen posting their pictures on the social media platforms. Lately, the 38-year old veteran posted a couple of photos on Twitter. In one of them, he was seen feeding a deer. On the other, one of his daughters was seen posing in Afridi’s trademark style of celebration.

However, Twitterati noticed something weird in one of the photos. In his daughter’s picture, there was a lion behind her, which agitated the public. Subsequently, they slammed Afridi
