Twitterati smash Sanjay Manjrekar after his "Scrub Mumbai to Get Colombo" tweet

Sanjay Manjrekar, the former Indian cricketer, has been an eminent figure as a cricket broadcaster and has been seen plying his trade in a number of games involving India. The Mumbai cricketer is also an active contributor on social media platforms, especially Twitter. However, while he has earned significant respect with his commentary, he has also faced the wrath of the public following his posts on Twitter.

Manjrekar is currently in Sri Lanka as a broadcaster for the Nidahas Trophy 2018 featuring hosts Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh. Recently, he posted a picturesque photo of Colombo and interrelated it with Mumbai. He wrote “Give Mumbai a nice scrub and you will get Colombo”

Previously, he posted a tweet during India’s tour of South Africa where he appreciated Hardik Pandya for a gritty inning in the opening Test at the Newlands in Cape Town. However, he compared the knock to Amitabh Bachchan, the Bollywood legend’s movies and subsequently was trolled severely by Twitter.

Meanwhile, Team India has had a decent run in the ongoing T20 triangular series. They slumped to a defeat against the hosts in the opening game at the iconic R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. However, Rohit Sharma‘s men stormed back and notched three successive victories and confirmed their berth in the Final to be played on March 18 in Colombo.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will play a virtual semi-final today and the winner will progress to the final against the Men in Blue. For India, the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Washington Sundar, and Shardul Thakur have dished out stupendous performances and helped them in the impressive campaign thus far in the tournament.
