Martin Guptill smashed the second century of his career against Australia in the ongoing T20I tri-series at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday. He played an outstanding knock of 105 runs off just 54 deliveries and it was studded with 6 fours and as many as nine maximums. Surprisingly, he went unsold in the IPL auction which was held in Bangalore last month. However, Twitter has hilariously trolled the co-owner of Kings XI Punjab and the Bollywood actress Preity Zinta after Guptill trailblazing innings.

Preity was one of the most active representatives of all the IPL franchises during the action as she was bidding on almost every player. She was trolled by the cricket fans after the event as they thought she had gone for a shopping and was looking to buy every player which went under the hammer. She was also a lot more expressive during the auction on both days and attracted a lot of attention.

Hilarious tweets

Martin Guptill also became the leading run-scorer in the world in the T20 Internationals during his stupendous knock against the Aussies. While the former England skipper Michael Vaughan has time and again expressed his frustration over him going unsold in the IPL, Twitterati took time out to troll Preity Zinta. Guptill played for KXIP last year and interestingly they didn’t even bid for him. He couldn’t attract any bids from other franchises as well and will stay away from the marquee event this year.

He has played a couple of blistering knocks for New Zealand in the ongoing tri-series so far and has made the teams in the IPL feel that they did a huge mistake by not picking him. Twitterati made fun of the actress and questioned her for not retaining Guptill as he is one of the best players in the shortest format. While some of the users accused her hilariously for her poor shopping skills.

Though the Kiwi batsman wasn’t picked during the auction, there is a possibility now that the franchises might certainly approach him in case of an injury to any player before during the tournament.
