Sourav Ganguly is widely credited for changing the face of Indian cricket and for giving them that fighting spirit to compete with the best of the best teams in their own backyard. As the captain of the new-look Indian side, Dada, as he is fondly called, took the Indian team to new heights with amazing performances in ICC tournaments and on tours to Australia and England.

Ganguly led India to the finals of the ICC World Cup 2003 and shared the 2002 Champions Trophy with Sri Lanka. His contributions to the team’s growth as a formidable force cannot be ignored, though he faced some tough times during the end of his career, he bid goodbye on a high. He has now turned his eyes towards administration, being the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

However, it seems that someone as posh as former India opener is not immune to making mistakes when it comes to social media. Sourav Ganguly has a Twitter account with over 4.3 million followers with most of them being diehard fans. But in recent times, the former captain of the Indian team has been guilty of making silly mistakes on the social media platform.

First was when he wished former CM of the Haryana, late Bansi Lal, good health. The catch here was that the politician had passed away in 2006 and the Twitter handle HaryanaTweets had posted a photo of him commemorating his birth anniversary, something that was obviously missed by the CAB president. He was mercilessly trolled for the gaffe and hundreds of his followers corrected his folly.

It seems like someone else runs his Twitter account nowadays, as there was another mistake made. This time, a photo of Sourav Ganguly, possibly from a photoshoot for an advertisement was shared on his account. The goofy looking photo saw the former Indian skipper giving a double thumbs up with a genuinely laughable smile.

Also, the big mistake here was that the photo was a raw one without any edits or processing, a glaring mistake by whoever was handling his account. The netizens jumped upon the opportunity to pull the leg of the Prince of Kolkata on the social media platform and we have some of the most hilarious tweets for you.

Here’s Ganguly’s tweet:
