The Pakistan cricket team has come under a backlash over its 0-5 loss to Australia in a five-match ODI series in the UAE last month. The team management, as well as the selectors, have been slammed for resting a number of key players for the series ahead of the World Cup starting next month. In between the on-field controversy, an off-field one has also stolen the headlines and it is about one cricketer – Yasir Shah.

The 32-year-old leg-spinner found himself landing in hot water after a TikTok video of him lip-syncing a song with a female fan at a mall in Dubai went viral on the social media. In the video, Shah is seen standing next to the woman and lip-syncing to a song called ‘Oh Humsafar’ originally sung by Indian singers Neha and Tony Kakkar.

Shah was heard signing the line: “Mai Sirf Tera Raho Ga”. According to one Twitter user, the fans persisted with the request to the cricketer for a TikTok video. TikTok is a popular application which allows users to recreate or mimic scenes, dialogues or songs by themselves featuring in it.

Shah took just four wickets in five matches against Australia

Yasir Shah had an ordinary series against Australia, taking four wickets in five matches with the best bowling figures of 2 for 57 in the fourth game in Dubai. The bowler is an irregular member of the limited-overs sides, having played just 24 matches since making debut in 2011. He played a couple of games against Zimbabwe last year after a gap of two years.

The man is, however, a better force with the ball in the longer format, having taken 203 wickets in 35 matches with 16 five-wicket hauls. In the ODIs, Shah has just one five-wicket haul and an overall wickets tally of 23. Meanwhile, Yasir Shah was trolled hilariously on Twitter for his video as the fans had a laugh on it.
