Twitter trolls Yuvraj Singh after his father Yograj Singh's abusive speech during Farmers' Protest

Time and again, Yograj Singh, father of former India batsman Yuvraj Sigh, has faced the heat for his outspoken nature. For years, Yograj has been slammed by cricket fans across the country for his constant and needless criticism of the legendary MS Dhoni. In the past, Yograj came up with several derogatory comments for the former India skipper.

And recently, he was at it again but this time around, Dhoni was not in his firing line. Showing the ugly and abusive facet of his personality, Yograj came up with a highly controversial speech during the ongoing Farmers’ protest in the country. Yograj, who scored 11 runs and picked up 5 wickets for India, abused Hindus and insulted Hindu women during his provocative speech.

Farmers are currently staying put at Delhi’s borders with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in protest against the three recent bills passed by the Parliament. The farmers have expressed apprehension that the newly enacted laws would pave the way for the dismantling of the minimum support price system, leaving them at the “mercy” of big corporations. The government, however, holds a different view which has led to the impasse.

Yuvraj Singh targeted on Twitter

In the wake of Yograj Singh’s highly condemnable speech, Yuvraj Singh is following the heat too. Twitter users have called for the arrest of the former Indian cricketer, making #ArrestYograjSingh one of the top trends of the morning. Unlike Yograj, Yuvraj is one of India’s most decorated cricketers and is regarded as the greatest match-winner of Indian cricket.

Yuvraj played a key role when India won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the 50-over World Cup in 2011. During the 2007 T20 World Cup, he had famously hit Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over. He was also the Man of the Tournament when India won the World Cup in 2011. But all his achievements on the field took the back seat recently as Twitter users targeted him due to his father’s speech.
