The Mumbai Indians (MI) have managed to register a handsome win against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking the head-to-head battle lead to 15-12. However, even after this scintillating performance, there still seem to be a few chinks in their armour. Their biggest concern is the veteran all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.
The southpaw started off the season on a great note. In the game against the Delhi Capitals (DC), he scored 53 from 35 balls in an innings that included five fours and three sixes. This knock raised a glimmer of hope amongst the fans and they expected him to continue the same way in the remaining games of the season. However, things didn’t pan out as per the plans for Yuvraj Singh in the next three games.
Is Yuvraj Singh playing sensible cricket?
In the next match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Yuvi kept the fans interested. He smashed three consecutive sixes off the bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal. In an attempt to smash the fourth ball out as well, he holed out to the fielder at long-off. Yet, it was only his second game and the fans still had enough belief in him.
However, he failed terribly in the next two matches. While he was expected to play a big knock at his home ground in Mohali against KXIP, he failed to do so. The 37-year-old damaged the momentum that was provided by the openers with a 22-ball 18. Interestingly, he got out to a leg-spinner even though he is quite comfortable against them most of the times. This snail knock resulted in Mumbai getting a below-par total and eventually lost the game.
In the recent game against CSK, Yuvraj Singh only managed to only 4 off 6 balls and fell yet again to a leg-spinner. This has led to severe disappointment amongst the aficionadi. Yuvi is taking up the place of a youngster like Ishan Kishan who is eagerly waiting for his chances, according to some of the Twitter users. Twitterati is keen on having Ishan in the eleven in his place.
Here are some of the Twitter reactions:

Yuvraj Singh is past it. There are better players in that dug out who will provide a much needed stability in the middle order. The likes of Ishan Kishan will be raring to go! It’s time to drop the old brigade for the younger ones. @mipaltan @cricketaakash your thoughts? #IPL2k19

I am afraid that in this IPL Yuvraj Singh's total number of runs will be lesser than runs scored by Imran Tahir after taking wicket everytime#MIvCSK #IPL2019 #IPL
