Team India is playing Bangladesh in the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in Birmingham. The match is a special one not only for the team that is a couple of steps away from defending their title but also for Yuvraj Singh. It will mark the left-hander’s 300th appearance for the Men in Blue in 50 overs cricket.

Yuvi made his debut in the ICC Champions Trophy 2000 as a teenager and today in the same tournament will be playing the milestone game. Over the years he has been a crucial part of the Indian middle-order and proved to be one of the biggest match winners for the team. He made an early impression in his career with an 84 against Australia at Nairobi in his 2nd ODI and 41 vs South Africa in the following game.

He scored 12 fifties in the first 70 matches of his career and was not before his 61 innings that he got to the triple figures. He has come a long way since then with 52 half centuries and 14 ODI hundreds. The highest point of his One-Day International career has to be winning the World Cup 2011, what made it even special was the fact that he was the Player of the Series and played a pivotal role in the team lifting the title.

The period between 2003 and 2007 was the best phase of his career where he scored runs consistently and more than anything lifted the fielding standards in Indian cricket forming a partnership with Mohammad Kaif.

In 2011 he had to fight with cancer that threatened to dash the career of India’s favourite southpaw of the decade. He fought back and returned to the team and resumed his career. Today, ahead of the match the allrounder was felicitated by the skipper who gave him the debut Sourav Ganguly.

Yuvi would want to make the occasion special and secure a win for the team in the crucial game.

Here are some of the wishes from his friends as well as fans that appeared on Twitter:
