The Indian cricket team is currently playing the third Test match against South Africa. The Indians have already conceded the series to South Africa 0-2. The team was facing severe criticism for their team selection. Skipp Virat Kohli recently also lashed out a reporter when he was asked about the same.

However, going into the third Test Virat seems to have heard the heeds of fans and experts. He roped in both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ajinkya Rahane into the starting XI. India went into this match with an all-pace attack. After winning the toss, the visitors chose to bat first.

Pujara tries to be the wall

Team India lost both their openers within 15 runs and was under some severe trouble with both the Proteas opening bowlers Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander breathing fire. However, Cheteshwar Pujara and Kohli were beaten on the outside edge, misread the inward movement but battled it out in the middle trying to get things back on track. The South Africans have dropped some catches and gave multiple lives to the dangerous Virat Kohli.

Pujara on the other hand found it really difficult to get bat on ball. Occasions when he attempted to hit them, the ball missed the outside edge of his bat or took a soft edge. It was so difficult for him to get a run that he got off the mark on the 54th delivery that he faced this morning.

Pujara flicked a delivery off his pads to get off the mark. He sent the ball to the fine leg region. He was very pleased with the single and had a wide smile on his face. On a funny note, the entire dressing room stood up and applauded his effort. Skipper Kohli and the commentators were also amused.

It looked as if he hit a century looking given the way everyone admired the run. It was surely a valiant effort and much needed for a team that was already in severe troubles. India went into lunch at 45/2 and these two batsmen are cruising along well.
