The third T20I between India and Australia in Hyderabad was called off due to the soggy outfield on Friday which has left the fans fuming. The decider was expected to be a cracker as the teams were locked at 1-1 in the three-match T20I series. There was also no rain during the match but the outfield remained wet due to the heavy rains during the week. The only entertainment Hyderabad crowd got was the practice session of Indian batsmen.

Almost 30000 people were left disappointed when the match was called off after the multiple inspections by the umpires. They were also seen having a long discussion with the ground officials and the captain Virat Kohli and David Warner. But things didn’t improve despite the herculean efforts by the groundsmen. However, the crowd enjoyed their time in the stadium as they were seen creating Mexican waves.

Players kept the crowd busy

Indian cricketers decided to have a little fun amidst all the talk of the match being called off. They tried their hand at batting with the left-hand which kept the environment in the stadium buzzing. The crowd got involved into it after watching their superstars having the fun. While Rohit Sharma failed miserably in his attempt, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav managed to put bat on the ball.

However, the fans lashed out at the board for their poor scheduling and not having reserve days for the decider. They were also fumed over the drainage facility of the ground as the earlier matches in Chennai and Ranchi started in time despite rain falling during the match. Some of the users lashed out at BCCI for selecting only rainy venues out of the 49 available in the country whereas few of them demanded the refund for the spectators with interest. The trophy was shared in the end as Australia ended the tour with only a couple of wins under their belt. India won the ODI series but didn’t look as convincing in the shortest format of the game.

Here is how Twitterati blamed BCCI after the abandonment:
