Yesterday marked the beginning of the 5 match ODI series between India and West Indies at the Queens Park Oval. Much to everyone’s disappointment, the match had to be abandoned due to rainfall. The match was stopped in the 40th over of the first innings while India looked promising with the bat.
Shikhar Dhawan continued his consistency with the bat as he registered another splendid 87 run knock. He was well supported by Ajinkya Rahane who utilised his chance ahead of Rohit Sharma by scoring 62 runs. Yuvraj Singh failed with the bat again as he fell victim to West Indies skipper Jason Holder at the score of 4. Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni were the batsmen at the crease with scores of 32 and 9 respectively when the rain gods decided to interrupt the proceedings.

The covers came on to the ground with the Indian scoreboard poised at 199 for the loss of 3 wickets. Amidst the frustration, the fans on Twitter still found a way to share a moment of laughter. A picture of Indian skipper Virat Kohli spread like a disease on the social media platform, and the fans grabbed the opportunity with both hands to make the maximum out of it.

India is set to face the West Indies in the second ODI on 25th June which is a Sunday. The venue remains the same that is the Queens Park Oval, Port of Spain. The out of form Yuvraj Singh can make way for fresher Rishabh Pant and it will be exciting to see the latter perform for the first time donning the Indian colours.
