Twitterati shower praise on India Women for sensational win against arch rivals

India Women continued in their rampaging form with a thundering win against the arch rivals Pakistan Women in their third game of the ongoing edition of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017. They have been the absolute juggernaut unit this tournament. They started off with a sensation win against the pre-tournament favorites England in the first game.

Later, they beat the West Indies Women in their second game riding on Smriti Mandhana’s masterly ton. Now, in their third game, they have beaten Pakistan Women by 95 runs. In the game, Indian batters had a tough time as they lost the in-form Mandhana cheaply.

Punam Raut, the other opener, batted well for her 47 but the wickets kept tumbling at the other end. Towards the end, it was a crucial 33 from wicket keeper Sushma Verma that helped India Women post a decent total of 169/9 in their 50 overs. The target was definitely not going to be enough but it was something worth defending on the board. Indian bowlers bowled exceptionally well to bundle out the opposition cheaply.

Ekta Bisht was the chief sculptor of India’s win. Four batters from the Pakistani camp were dismissed for ducks. Barring skipper Sana Mir (29) and opener Nahida Khan (23), no other batter showed resilience at the crease. At one stage, Pakistan stared at total embarrassment with 44/7 to their name. However, some batting from Sana Mir towards the end saw them bundle out for 74 in 38.1 overs.

With that, India Women thundered to yet another win. Ekta Bisht bagged 5/18 to be the pick of the bowlers. The wishes came in flooding for the Indian team for their sensational win. The players also tweeted in joy to exclaim how excited they were after the big win against the arch rivals.
