Royal Challengers Bangalore is one team in the Indian Premier League that has been infamous for the changes which they bring in ahead of each and every season. Even ahead of the IPL 2021, the franchise released quite a few players and went to the auction to make some big buys. One of the players, whom they bought was the New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson.
RCB, in the past, has struggled to find bowlers who are good in the death overs. They have a history of losing matches, mainly due to the lack of consistency shown by their bowlers in the death overs. However, Jamieson is destined to take up that responsibility for the franchise this season after being bought for INR 15 crores in the IPL 2021 auction.
In the ongoing T20I series between New Zealand and Australia, Kyle Jamieson is one of the pacers whom the Blackcaps have given the responsibility to deliver in the death overs. Unfortunately for the young bowler, in the fourth T20I on Friday in Wellington, he got smashed for 26 runs in the last over of the Australian innings. He ended with match figures of 0 for 49 from four overs.
Jamieson faces heat on social media
As soon as the innings got over, Twitter exploded with people making fun of the RCB’s choice. Fans trolled Jamieson for his performance and predicted that this will be the state of RCB’s bowling unit during the upcoming IPL season. Interestingly, the 26 runs were scored by Aaron Finch, a former RCB player, who was released ahead of this year’s auction.
New Zealand came into the fourth match with a series lead 2-1, but Australia won the match by quite a decent margin to take the series to the decider. Batting first, Australia posted a total of 156 runs. Finch scored 79 runs off 55 balls. Playing slowly through most of the innings, he whacked Jamieson in the last over.
New Zealand were bowled out for 106 runs, handing over a win of 50 runs. For New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson top-scored with 30 from 18 balls. The series decider will be played on March 7 in Wellington. Despite his brilliant show with the bat, Jamieson faced the heat on social media for his poor show with the ball.

Looking at Kyle Jamieson conceding runs in this series, let us all be thankful the series didn't start before IPL auction. #NZvAUS
