Preview:

United Arab Emirates will mark their first appearance in the CWC League 2 as they host the Tri-series involving Scotland and United States of America. Both Scotland and USA hosted a Tri-series each and won three out of the four matches they played. Sunday will mark the start of the Tri-Nation series with the hosts UAE facing the USA team at the Sharjah. The United States team had a much-needed warm-up before the tournament as they featured in the Super50 Cup that concluded on December 1st. The UAE team will be looking to make a mark this time around having missed out on a berth in the ICC T20 CWC.

Weather Condition/Report:

Showers are expected on Sunday evening at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium but the match could be completed by that time.

Pitch Condition/Report:

Sharjah Cricket Stadium hosted two matches in List A cricket this year – two ODIs between Australia and Pakistan. The Aussies chased down targets of 285 and 281 in those two matches losing only two wickets. The track played in the favour of batsmen and same is expected to see on Sunday between UAE and USA. Since the match is played in the day time, we might see a bit of turn for the spinners.

Average first innings score: 282 (List A matches in 2019)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 2, Lost – 0

Expert Advice:

Our suggested fantasy XIs are made on the assumption of the UAE side selecting senior players in their XI. Though there are new entrants to their squad, a set of experienced players can be easily differentiated among those. At the same time, we expect the USA to select the top performers from the Super50 Cup.

Probable Winners:

UAE could be seen starting the tournament with a win.
