Pakistan is currently going through a poor run of form in the ongoing 2019 World Cup. Barring the victory against hosts England at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham, the Men in Green haven’t had much working for them. After defeats versus Australia and the Windies, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Co lost to arch-rivals India by 89 runs (DLS Method) at the Old Trafford in Manchester. Following the match, Umar Akmal attempted to review the match but got it all wrong.

It also meant that Pakistan remained winless versus India in the history of the mega event, losing all their seven matches. After losing the toss and electing to field first, Pakistan conceded 336 runs in their 50 overs. Rohit Sharma raced off to his 24th ODI century and he was well supported by the likes of KL Rahul and captain Virat Kohli, who scored 57 and 77 respectively.

India demolishes Pakistan in Manchester

Mohammad Amir bowled his heart out and picked up three wickets, including the one of Kohli. Pakistan lost the early wicket of Imam-ul-Haq, but Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman put on 104 runs for the second wicket to keep their team in the hunt. Unfortunately, chinaman Kuldeep Yadav got rid of both batters after which things went downhill for Sarfaraz’s men pretty quickly.

After a rain delay, Pakistan needed 136 off 30 balls and the writing was on the walls for the Men in Green. In the end, they concluded with 212/6 in 40 overs. Meanwhile, Umar Akmal, who didn’t find a place in the squad for the mega event, admitted that India was the better team. He also heaped praise on Kohli and Rohit, saying that they are ‘world class batsmen’.

Akmal also lauded Fakhar, Babar and Amir, He took to Twitter and wrote, “India were clearly a better team with @ImRo45 & @imVkohli showing why they are world class batsmen. They were too good while @Aamir bowled well for Pakistan. Wickets milti early to match acha hote. @Fakhar and @Babar played well lekin uske baad koi partnership nahi lagi,”

The 29-year-old made a goof-up in his tweet. He tweeted the right handles of Rohit and Virat but tagged accounts of some other Amir, Fakhar and Babar. Twitterati noticed the error and the fans trolled him for the mistake on social media.
