Players in the modern era can hardly dream of it because some are injury prone and miss some matches or gets dropped due to poor form. <p>If a bowler manages to break this record, it should be a medical miracle. Taking 19 wickets in a Test out of the 20 possible wickets is more than an outstanding achievement and England spinner Jim Lakers managed to do so against Australia in 1956. Lakers became the first bowler to take 10 wickets in an innings when he took 10-53 in the second innings of the match. In the first innings, he managed to take 9-37 which totals to 19-90 in the match.</p>

Graeme Smith has led South Africa in 109 Tests, the most by any captain. Smith has lead in team in 109 of the 117 he has played.</p>

<p>Breaking this record needs something special for a bowler. Now a days, most of the bowlers are not quitting tests in order to prolong their ODI and T20 careers. This is one of the records that will stay until the game is played.</p>

<p>Teams scoring a combined total of 800 in both their innings is a tough ask. But Sri Lanka has managed to score 952 runs in an innings. Now a days, teams are declaring after scoring 600 or 700 odd runs in Test matches. So, scoring 952 runs in a Test will not be broken so easily.</p>

<p>Sachin Tendulkar has so many records including the most number of runs in Tests, ODIs, 100 International centuries etc. It is very difficult to break those records but can be broken by someone in the future. But his record of playing 200 Tests in his career will stay forever. He began playing Tests in 1989 and called it a day in 2013 ie. after 24 years. It is very hard for the cricketers to play cricket at the highest level for over 15 years and it is one of the reasons why this will remain intact.</p>
