Preview:

United States of America made a great start to playing ODI matches at home as they cruised to 2nd straight win in the Tri-Series. They sneaked in a 5-run win against Papua New Guinea (PNG) in the rain-affected match to mark the occasion of their first-ever home ODI. They thumped Namibia in the 2nd match on what looked like a turning track. Steven Taylor had a perfect game with both bat and ball.

He took four out of nine wickets that went to spinners in the match against Namibia. The opponent were bundled out to just 121 while the hosts chased it down with 112 balls to spare. The United States will once again take on the PNG team on Thursday. The PNG has been going through a tough time as they lost all their four matches in the first Tri-Series of the ICC CWC League Two held in Scotland.

Weather Condition/Report:

The first game between USA and PNG was cut short due to afternoon rain. The 2nd match had a forecast of rain in the evening but the USA dominating Namibia meant the match didn’t last that long. The forecast for the 3rd match is quite clear but there are chances of rain in the latter half.

Pitch Condition/Report:

Florida’s Lauderhill has been quite helpful for the spinners in the two matches so. The pitch for first match was more of a slow track but the 2nd game was played on a rank turner. It might be same for the remaining matches of the tournament unless the ground staff put efforts to change the nature of the pitches.

Average first innings score: 186 (ODI matches)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 1, Lost – 1
