Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan cheering for Team India ahead of the World Cup is definitely every Indian now. Nothing is bigger than the World Cup in this cricket-obsessed nation and unsurprisingly the entire nation is busy rooting for the Indian team as they bid to win the third title for the country. The twelfth edition of the much-awaited World Cup gets underway on May 30 with hosts England taking on South Africa. India, on the other hand, will kick off their campaign on June 5 against the Proteas in Southampton.

The World Cup is a 45-day event and will end with the final at the iconic Lord’s on July 14. In this edition, all the ten participating teams will play against each other once before the top four teams make it to the semi-final. The top two teams will then take on each other in the title-decider.

And ahead of the start of the main tournament, Varun has shown just how much he will be rooting for the team during the competition. One of the most popular actors in the country right now, Dhawan was seen chanting ‘Jeetega bhai Jeetega India Jeetega’ wearing an Indian cricket team jersey.

India warms up in style:

Bouncing back in style from the defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the first warm-up game, India thrashed Bangladesh by 95 runs in their second and last warm-up game. Barring the toss and the top-order collapse, almost everything went India’s way. India were reeling at 102 for 4 before centuries from MS Dhoni and KL Rahul propelled the side to a mammoth 359 for 7. The bowlers then played their role to perfection by dismissing the Tigers for just 264.

Speaking at the end of the game, skipper Virat Kohli said that KL Rahul’s batting at number four was the biggest positive for the team. “I think the biggest positive to come out was the way KL Rahul batted at four. It is important that he gets runs and he is a sound player to get the scoreboard ticking. MS and Hardik were superb as well. We were challenged by their batsmen as well and our spinners got wickets too,” said Kohli.
