The Indian team has already established their dominion on the home soil this season. The Virat Kohli-led India looked rejuvenated under the tutelage of their new skipper, as they beat every single opponent at home. Currently, the Men in Blue is playing Sri Lanka in a bilateral series. Having comprehensively won the Test and the ODI legs, India will take on the Islanders today in the 1st of the three T20Is at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.

After the culmination of the series against the Islanders, they are supposed to travel for their all important-tour of South Africa. Team India has never won a Test series in the country, but under the leadership of Kolhi and a new-found confidence, the present team has the capability to turn tables around.

Speaking about the upcoming tour, former India seamer Venkatesh Prasad said he wants the batsmen to give their bowlers enough runs to bowl at during the Test tour. Prasad, who is also the national junior selection committee chief, was quoted as saying to mid-day, “I have always felt that the batsmen need to put up big scores for the bowlers to bowl freely. You need to post over-300 scores and that’s what we should be looking at. The bowlers will then have the freedom to express themselves.”

India can expect flat tracks instead of bouncy tracks

The Indian bowling attack boasts the likes Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and spinners R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Asked what tips he would give the bowlers to bowl on bouncy wickets the experienced bowler, Prasad, who played 33 Tests and 161 ODIs, said, “There may not be bouncy tracks. You may surprised to encounter good batting tracks as well.”
