Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19: All you need to know – Squads, Fixtures & Broadcast details

The 17th edition of the List A tournament gets underway on September 19.

The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19 which is the 17th edition of the tournament gets underway on September 19. There are 37 teams that will feature in the tournament. Karnataka will head into the List A tourney as the defending champions. A total of 160 one-day games will be played and the teams have been divided into 4 groups.

With the reinstation of Bihar in the domestic circuit, the total teams set to participate in the tournament was 29 in April. In July, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) of the BCCI increased the number to 37 by adding another 8 teams from North East India to the domestic roster. All these new teams, including Bihar, was included in the ‘Plate Group’.

The rest of the teams are divided into three groups, namely Group A, Group B and Group C. While there are 9 teams each in Group A and Group B, the Group C consists of 10 sides. The top two teams from Group A, B and C will proceed to the knockout stages. One team from the Plate group will advance to the knockouts. The eighth team will be the higher third-ranked team among Group A and Group B. The final of the tournament will be played on October 20.
