The Indian Premier League is the most lucrative cricket event and thus, it is not surprising that some of the cricketers participating in the league earn nearly 100 crores because of the two-month-long cricket festival. Interestingly, it is not Virat Kohli who has benefitted most out of this tournament but Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni followed by Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma who have earned more than 100 crores from the tournament.

Dhoni, Kohli, and Gambhir among the highest-paid

According to a survey conducted by Moneyball, who are recognized for the digital counting on professional player earnings MS Dhoni is on the top of the list with his earnings of 107.84 crores. After MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma is on the second position with earnings of 101.60 crores till now from IPL, as reported by Catch News.

According to the press release, Virat Kohli who had played for RCB since 2008 is on 4th position in this list with the earnings of 92.20 crores as Gautam Gambhir, who is now leading Delhi Daredevils, is on the third position with the earnings of 94.62 crores. Now on fifth position the players who has made his place is Yuvraj Singh, who has earned 83.60 crores till now. He is then followed by the top scorer of the tournament, Suresh Raina, who has earned 77.74 crores and his on 6th position now.

Among the overseas players is South African cricketer AB De Villiers with the top position with earnings of 69.51 crores and followed by Australian all-rounder Shane Watson with the earnings of 69.13 crores.

The hosts India, as apparent, lead the table for the maximum salary and the maximum number of players in the IPL. A total of 426 players from India have been contracted by the IPL franchises till date. Indian cricketers have earned the largest share of the pie (54.95%) with a total ₹2,354 crores in salaries till date.
