Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma donate Rs 5 lakh each for Welfare of Mumbai Police
The couple had also donated an undisclosed amount to PM CARES and Maharashtra Relief Funds.

Like many other countries across the world, even India is suffering from a lot of Coronavirus cases. Almost 60,000 cases have been registered so far in the country and close to 40,000 cases are still active among them. Maharashtra is the worst affected state in India with more than 19000 people affecting from COVID-19.
The police department not only in the state but also across the country has been working day in day out during these tough times to make sure that people stay inside their homes. Mumbai Police is affected the most with around 714 officials being tested positive for Coronavirus. And the India skipper Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma have lent their helping hand to them.
The power couple has donated Rs 5 lakh each to the Welfare of Mumbai Police to help them in this pandemic even as they are still working hard to contain the spread of the virus. Mumbai Police’s official Twitter handle informed the news and thanked both Kohli and Anushka for their kind gesture,

Virat Kohli and Anushka active in raising awareness amid lockdown
Earlier, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had donated an undisclosed amount to the PM CARES and Maharashtra CM Relief Fund. Moreover, they also time and again raised awareness and appealed people to stay inside their home to limit and contain the spread of the virus.
The 31-year-old also participated in Mask Force along with the other Indian cricketers urging the citizens of the nation to use masks whenever they step outside the home. He also took part in the video with the Bollywood celebrities requesting the fans and followers to not spread any fake news and not believe in any forwarded messages.
Apart from Virat Kohli, even the rest of the current and former Indian cricketers have donated to the various Relief funds while some have also helped the poor people distributing food and essential things.
