On December 6, India will take on Australia in the first Test of the four-match series in Adelaide. Captain Virat Kohli will be eager to register a win at the Adelaide Oval to take a crucial lead in the series. But there is also another reason why Kohli will be strongly wishing a victory. For on December 11, the day after the first Test gets over, the ace cricketer and his actor wife Anushka Sharma will complete their first marriage anniversary.

The wedding of the power couple in Tuscany, Italy, in 2017 was quite an event and every celebrity marriage that took place after that has been, in some way or the other, compared with it. The duo is all set to celebrate its first anniversary on December 11 by spending some quality time with each other in Australia report suggested.

A special December for Anushka this year

Anushka, who completes a decade in her acting career this December (in fact, December 12 will mark the 10th anniversary of her first film ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’), is busy promoting her upcoming film ‘Zero’ with Shah Rukh Khan, who was also her co-actor in her debut movie. She will reportedly take a break from her professional duties to join Kohli in Australia.

“Anushka had planned this trip months ago and the Zero team was aware that she would be taking a few days off in December to celebrate this special moment,” DNA quoted a source as saying. Anushka will return to India after the Australia trip to join the promotional work.

The duo was seen celebrating together earlier this month when Kohli turned 30. The cricketer took a break from international cricket around that time when India played the Windies in a T20I series at home under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

Kohli’s teammates will be giving their best to ensure that December 11 turns out to be extra special for the team as well as the captain’s personal occasion. India have never won a Test series in Australia and have drawn thrice in the 1980s and 2000s.
