Virat Kohli awarded for most engaging Instagram account

Ever since Virat Kohli came into the international circuit, he has been unstoppable. Even in an era of biomechanics, opponents have found it tough to stop the 30-year-old from Delhi. The World Cup in England and Wales starts in less than a month and the right-hander is one of the reasons why India is being deemed as one of the favourites to win the championship.

Kohli never misses out on chances of making his presence felt on the cricket pitch and it’s the case even on the social media platforms. The dynamic batsman is one of the most followed Indians on Instagram as he has over 32.7 million followers with 709 posts to his name. That has got him an award for the ‘most engaging account’ on Instagram for the year.

The Instagrammer of the Year 2019 awards took place in Mumbai on Thursday where Virat had another feather added to his hat. As of now, he follows 92 accounts on the platform. Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas got the ‘Most Followed Account’ this year courtesy of 39 million followers. Famous YouTuber Bhuvan Bham won the ‘Entertainment Account of the Year’ award.

Despite having a chock-a-block schedule, Virat never misses out on engaging with his supporters on Instagram. He keeps sharing pictures, both from his personal and professional careers. Kohli is married to popular Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma since December 2017 and he keeps on posting adorable pictures and videos on a frequent basis with his better-half.

Yesterday, Anushka celebrated her 31st birthday and on the auspicious occasion, Virat uploaded a video on Instagram where the couple was seen spending some quality time with each other in a private place. As far as his cricketing assignments are concerns, he is currently leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
