The Indian Women’s team went down, against a strong Australian team with the Southern Stars duo of Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry scoring the winning runs for the team. Earlier in the day, India’s skipper Mithali Raj set the record for most runs in  Women’s ODIs surpassing England’s Charlotte Edwards‘ tally of 5992 ODI runs.

The former English skipper was the highest run-scorer in the history of the game, with 5992 runs in 191 innings. Raj, on the other hand, reached to the record score in 183 matches, with a superb average of 51.66 while her high score is 114* for the Indian team. The record for most number of wickets in Women’s cricket is also held by an Indian; the veteran pace bowler Jhulan Goswami, has taken 189 wickets in her illustrious career.

There were wishes from all corners pouring in for the Indian super skipper, with cricketers such as Ajinkya Rahane and Gautam Gambhir being one of the earliest wishes for Mithali. VVS Laxman, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, Vikram Chandra, Isa Guha, Lisa Sthalekar and many others lauded her efforts during India’s first innings against Australia.

Indian Men’s team skipper Virat Kohli after posting a tweet, also took to Facebook to wish the fellow skipper only to be brutally trolled by the keyboard warriors. The image uploaded on his page to congratulate her on the record was that of Poonam Raut and not Mithali.

It was one of the most embarrassing moments for the Indian skipper after the Facebook comments flooded pointing out the mistake probably committed by his social media team. Twitteratis’ and Facebook users made sure that the mistake would be rectified and acting up on it the post was removed minutes later.

Here is the compilation of some of the hilarious tweets that followed Kohli’s Facebook post:
