Two aces – the best in the world from their respective industry challenge each other and put possibly their dearest thing on the line. Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team, called up Jamaican sprinter, and the world record holder Usain Bolt on social media for a bet and he is ready to give away his favourite Cricket spikes if he loses this one.

Kohli and Bolt have a fundamental attribute in terms of mental strength in common and probably that is what separates them from the rest. Leading into a big match at a World Championship or the Olympics Bolt’s opponents always got into the verbal battle, challenged him, made claims that they were going to beat him this time. He didn’t reply to them with words but did that on the track and the world took a bow every time Bolt finished a race as he seldom settled for anything but the Gold.

Virat loves being provoked on or off the field by his opponents, he doesn’t let it hamper his focus or lose his temper in the moment rather he uses that as inspiration, to prove what he is made of with his performance. The Indian captain at the moment is at the top of the ICC Test as well as ODI batsmen rankings and his team is at the highest position on the Test team rankings. Enough said.

The bet

Kohli put out a tweet which read- “Yo @usainbolt, bet a pair of my favourite Cricket spikes, you can’t guess which Indian cricketer is coming on board with @PUMA next! Just caught wind of the news…”

Bolt soon replied saying, “Yow @imVkohli , I got the news already! I’m betting a pair of my favorite PUMA Running spikes – I know who this is! He’s fast (but not as fast as me). Let’s wait and see who wins.”

Kohli’s video on Bolt’s retirement

This is not the first time these two superstars have interacted on social media. After Bolt called it time on his amazing career, Virat had posted a video to congratulate him.

“Hey, Usain! I know it’s your last race we are going to miss you a lot on the track. From me and everyone in the Puma family, we wish you all the very best for this one and all your future endeavours. If you ever wanna play cricket you know where to find me,” Kohli said in the video.

Bolt had replied by saying, “Thanks Champ.”
