Virat Kohli & Co. spend an evening with Sir Vivian Richards

The warm-up games are done, the net sessions are going on well and Virat Kohli & Co. is almost set to play hosts West Indies in the first Test at the Sir Vivian Richards, Antigua starting Thursday. The stadium is named after West Indies batting legend Sir Viv and the Indian boys had the opportunity to meet the man himself and talk to him ahead of the series opener.

Following their meet Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli said he received “words of gold” from Sir Vivi who visited the Indian team hotel to meet the boys. After getting talking to him and getting his insight nobody wanted to miss this chance of getting snapped with the legend and Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Murali Vijay and KL Rahul took selfies with him.

Virat Kohli posted the photo on his Twitter handle and wrote – “What a memorable moment. With the greatest ever, Sir @vivrichards56. Words of gold from him. #Grateful #Memorable,”

Shikhar Dhawan described his experience saying, “Enjoyed having little discussion with Great Sir viv richards!!! Still feeling so happy!,”

K L Rahul who isn’t certain of starting in the Indian XI at least for the first game also took some advice from the West Indian. He also tweeted a picture and wrote, “Major fan boy moment Sir viv was kind enough to give us some advice. #blessed #bossman what a legend.”

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was also excited for the boys who had the one-on-one encounter with the legend. BCCI also tweeted a picture -The King @vivrichards56 and the Prince @imVkohli together in Antigua.’

‘A meeting to remember and cherish! Sir @vivrichards56 meet Team India members in Antigua.’
