The Indian captain Virat Kohli has always been vocal about his support for women empowerment. Time and again, he has spoken about the importance of his better half Anushka Sharma in his life and how she has given him emotional support at tough times. He has also lashed out at the fans making fun of the Bollywood actress after his failures on the cricket ground stating people have no right to call themselves educated if they insult a woman like this.

After the conclusion of the ODI series against South Africa that Team India won by a massive margin of 5-1, Virat had credited Anushka for his success saying that she has been unfairly criticized in the past, but she has been a pillar of strength for him since the time they have been together.

Today on the occasion of International women’s day, Virat again showed his feminist side by sharing a beautiful and heartfelt message to the society signifying the difficulties of being a woman.

In a video posted on his Twitter profile, Virat insisted that while we all keep saying that men and women are equal, they are actually not because men don’t have to go through as many adversities in life as women do. Whether we talk about sexual harassment, discrimination, sexism, domestic abuse or threats of violence, it all affect women more than men.

But, despite facing all these adversities, the women find a way through and rise and shine in all segments of life to make this world a better place. So how can they be equal to men? They are not just equal, they are “better than equal”. Sharing the video on twitter, Virat also urged all his followers to tag the extraordinary women in their lives while he himself tagged Anushka Sharma.
