Only 7 days are left for the prestigious Champions Trophy 2017 to start, which India enter as defending champions. Indian captain Virat Kohli during a press conference before the team’s to departure for ICC Champions Trophy gave a perfect reply to a journalist when he was asked about the feasibility of India’s game against Pakistan in the current scenario when situations are not friendly between the two countries.

Team India left for England last night after attending the premier of Sachin Tendulkar’s biopic in Mumbai. “Will it be a good choice to play a match against Pakistan keeping the present scenario in mind,” asked one of the journalists.

Kohli countered the journalist

Kohli countered the reporter on the same question and asked, “What do you think about it?” The journalist, however, was quick to respond as he insisted he wanted Kohli’s view. “We want to know your opinion on it,” he said.

This led to a rather aggressive approach from the Indian captain who replied, “It doesn’t really matter what I think as you have already made an opinion.”

The interaction between Kohli and this particular reporter was then put to a full stop and the remainder of the press conference was further carried on.

India will meet Pakistan on June 4

While the tournament begins on June 1, India will begin their campaign on June 4 against Pakistan at Edgbaston. They will later lock horns with Sri Lanka and South Africa in the other two group B matches in London.

Virat Kohli had a slight slump in his performance in the just-concluded tenth edition of the Indian Premier League and will be looking to change that and get some runs for India.

Indian squad for Champions Trophy:
