Virat Kohli heads Uttarakhand to spend time with Anushka

Team India Test skipper Virat Kohli has made it a habit to be in the news. Or perhaps it would be right to say that the paparazzi follows him wherever he goes. As per the recent reports in the Indian Express, Kohli was seen arriving in Uttarakhand with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. The couple has been seeing each other for quite some time now. It might well be conceded that the love birds arrived in Dehradun to celebrate Christmas.

The Indian team has had a long home season. After winning in the Caribbean, team India beat New Zealand in Tests and ODIs at home. The series was followed by a long 5-match Test series against England. Under Virat’s leadership, the team went on to thump England 4-0.

Now, a 25-day break beckoned both sides before they meet again for the limited overs series in mid-January. Most players headed back home to relax, while others got in the domestic cricket action. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma reportedly headed to Narendranagar (Tehri) after arriving at the Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun.

Interestingly, Kohli is also the brand ambassador of Uttarakhand. This is his first visit to the northern state of India after he was named the brand ambassador by the state tourism in April 2016. The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Mr. Harish Rawat, did not waste any time in making the most of the opportunity. He was quick to take to the social media in order to promote Uttarakhand tourism. He welcomed Virat Kohli and Anushka to the state.

On his official Twitter handle, he wrote, “Welcome to #Uttarakhand @AnushkaSharma @imVkohli Hope you have memorable moments throughout your visit #VisitUttarakhand #UttarakhandTourism (sic).”

The couple has had a fair share of ups and downs in their relationship. However, things seem to be on the sweet note for now. They were recently seen attending the wedding ceremonies of Yuvraj Singh together. Now, it will only be nice if the media give the couple the much needed time alone. Kohli has a long season ahead of him with team India. India are scheduled to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against England before locking horns with Bangladesh and Australia in Tests.
