Indian skipper and iconic batsman Virat Kohli has certainly taken his game to a different level when compared to the rest of the cricketers all over the world. He registered his 2nd century on the trot in the 5th ODI against Sri Lanka to help his side win the match easily by six wickets. Also, it was Virat’s 30th ODI ton in just 194 games, equaling the record of former Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting. Kohli is now just behind the little master Sachin Tendulkar for most number of centuries in ODI cricket.

While it was the God of Cricket – Sachin Tendulkar – who himself had predicted five years ago that Virat Kohli and opener Rohit Sharma are capable enough to break his record of 49 ODI hundreds. Both Rohit and Virat were too young then and were making a name for themselves. They were yet to find the consistency and ability which the little master was known for.

An Indian should break it

The little master owns some of the incredible records and his achievements are just uncountable. Yet, he made a bold prediction five years ago that the Indian batters, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the ones who can break his all-time record of ODI centuries. Sachin also revealed that he wishes that an Indian team player should break his record.

“Kya lagta hai aapko? seedhe seedhe bolo nahi tod payega (what do you think of this, ok say that no one can do it),” asked the Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

“I think those who can, are sitting in this room only. I can see those youngsters. Virat and Rohit are the ones. As long as an Indian breaks it, I don’t mind,” answered Sachin.

Virat closest towards the prediction

At the age of 28, India star batsman Virat Kohli has already scored 30 ODI hundreds in just 194 games. His hunger to score runs and wins matches for his country is growing with every passing game. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma also established himself as one of the best opener currently in ODI cricket, but there is a long way forward if the opener has to achieve the record of the little master. Rohit has scored 13 ODI hundreds and is the only batsman to score two double centuries in ODI cricket.
