India’s Test and ODI skipper Virat Kohli had an unexpected visitor during his recent practice session in Mumbai. He shared a picture of a “cool cat” from the session as he gears up for the New Zealand Test series, which is a part of the World Test Championship.
Kohli took to his official Twitter to post a couple of pictures, captioning the post as: “A quick hello from a cool cat at practice.” Anushka Sharma was quick to say hello. “Hello Billi”, read her comment, to which Kohli hilariously responded, “Launda from Dilli and Mumbai ki Billi”.
Kohli was one amongst the many first-choice players India rested for the recently concluded three-match T20I series, which the team won under their new leader Rohit Sharma as Kohli stepped down as the T20I skipper after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup.

India had a forgettable campaign at the tournament, as they could not move further than the Super12 stage, after losing games to Pakistan and New Zealand, while Kohli had announced his decision to leave the captaincy in the format upon the conclusion of the tournament in a bid to manage his workload better.
He has also been rested for the first of the two Tests against New Zealand and will join the team in the second Test in Mumbai from December 3. Ajinkya Rahane is set to lead the team in his absence in the first game at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium from November 25.
Virat Kohli would often let MS Dhoni handle little details: Bharat Arun
India underwent a coaching overhaul too after the T20 World Cup, as all amongst Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar vacated their posts. Opening up on the transition when MS Dhoni passed the baton to Kohli, former bowling coach Arun revealed how Kohli let Dhoni handle the little details.
“Ravi told the importance of having a senior member like Dhoni in the team. It was about giving a lot of respect and he would definitely help him. Kohli understood that of course and it was a seamless transition. You could see the respect in the way Kohli would often let Dhoni handle little details and prowl on the boundary in ODIs. That kind of stuff can’t have happened without trust and respect. And Dhoni also saw he was given the space and responded so well,” Arun told Indian Express in an interview.
“Fearlessness and honesty. During his tenure, there was absolutely no agenda. The decisions might have been right or wrong, that is irrelevant, but they came from the right place, purely thinking about team values and what we stood for as a team. Honesty encompasses criticism, self-introspection. It was in telling the team that ‘accept that we messed up’. It helped us evolve the team.”
